Literal Classifications

The Literal Classifications (md_literal_class) view allows you to add, modify, copy, and delete the records in the literal classifications table.

  • This table stores literal classification records.

  • When you create a literal, you must assign it a type (e.g. label, title, errorMessage). Once a literal key is defined, you may assign the literal an additional classification. Literal classifications allow you to group literals together into common types. These literal classifications are used in the staging process.

The following list defines every field in the literal classifications (md_literal_class) table in alphabetical order:

  • Created By - displays the name of the user who created the record you are viewing or maintaining. May not be overridden.

  • Created On - displays the date on which the record that you are creating or maintaining was created. May not be overridden. May also represent the creation date of the records you are attempting to retrieve.

  • Key - this field is maintainable in creation mode only, when it appears in the key subview. The unique identifier for a given literal.

    • Validated against the literals table to ensure that it exists.

  • Literal Classification - the classification of the literal that will allow a further grouping of a set of literals. The following options are available:

    • Locking (default) - the literal is a locking-related error.

    • Foreign Key Relation - the literal is a foreign-key-related error.

    • Generic - the literal is a generic-related error. These are used to define literals that are not specific to a business situation.

    • Unclassified - this option is available but cannot be added via this resource.

    • Catch All - this option is available but cannot be added via this resource.

  • Modification Counter - this field is not maintainable. The date and time the record was last modified.

  • Modified By - this field is not maintainable. The user or system process that last modified the record.

  • Modified On - this field is not maintainable. The date on which the record was last modified.
