LDAP Users
The LDAP Users (meta_ldap_user) resource is in the User Management System (UMS). This table provides a view of the users that have been defined for authentication against an LDAP server, thereby demonstrating how the application can connect to data sources other than a relational database.
- Customers will use an LDAP server as a central repository for authorization information, regardless of the application they use. This way, they only have to maintain the information once and in one place.
- The UMS Authentication Method field, defined via Users, determines whether a user is authenticated against an LDAP server or the Metadata Engine.
- Use the Add to UMS record-level action to add an existing LDAP user to the UMS. An error message is displayed if data issues arise.
- The LDAP server's connectivity parameters are set up in the System Properties field in the environments table.
