Tasks

The Tasks resource (meta_md_task) is in the System Monitor module of iTopia. A task is a part of business logic that can run asynchronously. Tasks are determined by the actions a purposes assigned to a particular view.

• The user runs a task resource, fills in the necessary fields, and executes the task; the task is then queued up to be run asynchronously, and the user may execute another task or move on to another resource.

The Tasks view allows you to perform the following operations:

• Delete records in the tasks table; and,

• Query records in the tasks table.

The following list defines every field available in the tasks (md_task) table in alphabetical order:

• Action Name - this field is not maintainable. The name of the action associated with the task.

• Created By - displays the name of the user who created the record you are viewing or maintaining. May not be overridden.

• Created On - displays the date on which the record that you are creating or maintaining was created. May not be overridden. May also represent the creation date of the records you are attempting to retrieve.

• Criteria Set Name - this field is not maintainable. The criteria set name.

• Database Name - this field is not maintainable. The name of the database associated with the task.

• Details - the details of the task.

• Ended On - this field is not maintainable. The date and time on which the task ended.

• Estimated Work Units - this field is not maintainable. The estimated work units.

• Modification Counter - this field is not maintainable. The date and time a given record was last modified.

• Modified By - this field is not maintainable. The user or system process that last modified the record.

• Modified On - this field is not maintainable. The date on which the record was last modified.

• Parameters - an expression column that displays the task parameter sequence.

• Processed Work Units - this field is not maintainable. The processed work units.

• Queue Message ID - this field is not maintainable. The queue message identifier.

• Started On - this field is not maintainable. The date and time on which the task was started.

• Status - this field is not maintainable. The task status. The following options are available:
  • Created - indicates that the task has been created.

  • Running - indicates that the task is currently running.

  • Stopped - indicates that the task is stopped.

  • Failed - indicates that the task has failed.

  • Completed - indicates that the task has been completed.

  • Completed with Exceptions - indicates that although the task has been completed, one or more records in the task were not updated successfully.

• System - Log - an expression column that displays the system task log.

• Table Name - this field is not maintainable. The name of the table associated with the task.

• Task ID - this field is not maintainable. The task identifier.

• Task Log - an expression column that displays the task log.

• View Name - this field is not maintainable. The name of the view associated with the task.
