My Views
Every user has a 'My Views' menu available to them.
- The My Views menu provides a link to the user's personal menu - the My Views menu. The menu is automatically created when a user record is created in PointForce iTopia. The My Views menu enables a user to personalize a menu with the views he/she accesses most often and the views he/she has personalized. All views personalized by the user currently logged into iTopoia are stored in this menu.
- The My Views folder can be maintained in one of three ways:
- Manually, via the User Resource Group view available from the user's profile.
- A Drag and Drop feature is available to simplify the task of adding and removing views from the My Views menu. This feature enables a user to select a resource from the current resource group and then drag and drop it onto the My Views menu. Removing a resource from the user menu is just as simple; the user clicks on the My Views link, at which point the image changes to that of the Recycling Bin. When a resource is dropped on to the Recycling Bin, this has the effect of removing the resource from the My Views menu.
- Whenever a view is personalized, and the Save As action is used to save the changes, a personal view is created. A user's personal views are stored automatically in the user's My Views menu.
- When a user record is deleted, its associated My Views menu is also automatically deleted.
- If a system (or corporate) view was created, the view is not considered a personal view and is therefore not saved in the user's My Views menu. System views can be dragged and dropped into My Views.
- When you remove a view from the My Views menu, this does not remove the view from the iTopia. You can still access it via the Quick Launch input text box.
