Models & Assembled Sets in Elite WMS Interface
Models and assembled sets are supported by the Elite WMS interface however there are times when a component is short shipped, i.e. Elite WMS allocates the order for picking but when the picker reaches the bin(s) they must short ship a component.
The components can be either proportionately or disproportionately short shipped:
- Proportionately Short Shipped Example:
- If the components are proportionately short shipped, the appropriate quantity is back ordered at the header level when the order is sent back to PFE and an invoice is generated.
For example, let's say an order is created for an assembled set which is shippable from components-only with a quantity of 3. Component 1 requires a quantity of 2 for each set and Component 2 requires a quantity of 4 for each set.
Here is an example of the details from the order:
- Disproportionately Short Shipped Example:
- When the order is picked in Elite WMS, Component 1 is short shipped by 1 unit. The following automatically occurs when the invoice is generated in PFE:
- Additional lines are added for the short shipped component. Specifically, a back order line for each short shipped component with a 100 percent discount is added to the invoice along with a comment line for each of the back ordered components.
- An adjustment 'in' with the adjustment type 'A' is automatically created for the short shipped component(s) to prevent out-of-balances in the inventory when the back order is released.
- Here is an example of the details from the invoice:
-
When the back order is released in PFE and picked and shipped in Elite WMS, the back ordered components are invoiced at no charge to the customer. A comment line is added to indicate that this is a back order for the short shipment.
