Customer Recode Merge Execution (RM85)
The Customer Recode/Merge Execution (RM85) program recodes/merges Customers and Prospects previously entered in Customer Recode/Merge Entry (RM84). Once started, this program must run to completion.
Please be aware of the following important notes when running RM85:
- RM85 should be run ALONE. Files throughout the system are affected.
- Customer with tokenized credit card records in Customer/ShipTo for EFT Tokenization (ibis_ar05) are handled in a specific manner. For additional information, please see the Merging Customers with Tokenized Credit Card Records help topic.
- If you are recoding or merging customers and you have e-commerce, you must have the Event Processing (ibis_cc33) program running on the subscriber. RM85 creates an event (RPS - RM Customer) on the publisher which is replicated to CC33 on the subscriber. CC33 executes the event on the subscriber thereby keeping customers on the e-commerce web site in synch with customers on the publisher.
Using RM85:
- The Start option allows you to start the Customer recode/merge update. You should run RM85 when no other programs are running (with the exception of CC33 on the subscriber which ensures that customers on the e-commerce web site are also updated with the recode/merge). The re-coding and merging of customer information affects most of the applications in the system. As the RM85 runs a progress bar displays to indicate which file are updating.
Note: Various files are checked to ensure that any programs that involve Customer information are completed. A message displays for any program that must be completed prior to running the 'Start' mode which identifies the program and/or warehouse.
Note: Running RM85 while other programs are running can cause unpredictable damage to your data. This damage may not be recoverable.
- To close RM85, press Escape or click on the 'X' in the top right corner of the window.
