Enter G/L Accts for Recode/Merge (RM71)

The Execute G/L Recode/Merge (RM72) program recodes/merges GL Accounts previously entered in Enter G/L Accts for Recode/Merge (RM71). Once started, this program must run to completion.

Caution: This program should be run ALONE. Files throughout the system are affected.

Using RM72:

  1. The Test option allows you to start the execution of the program but will not update any files.

    Note: Various files are checked to ensure that any programs that involve GL Account information are completed. A message displays, indicating the program, for any program that must be completed prior to running the ‘Test’ mode. As GL Account records are found, a Verification Selection screen automatically opens:

    • Select option 1 (Continue verifying this file) to continue verifying each Customer recode/merge transaction as it comes up and click OK.
      OR
    • Select option 2 (Continue verifying this file without stopping at this question) to continue verifying the file without stopping at the Verification Selection screen and click OK.
      OR
    • Select option 3 (Start verifying the next file) to verify the next file for the Customer recode/merge transaction and click OK.

      Once the ‘Test’ is complete RM72 automatically closes.

  2. The Start option allows you to start the GL Account recode/merge update. The update should run when no other processes are running. The re-coding and merging of customer information affects most of the applications in the computer system. As the RM72 runs a progress bar displays to indicate which file are updating.

    Note: Various files are checked to ensure that any programs that involve GL Account information are completed. A message displays, indicating the program, for any program that must be completed prior to running the ‘Start’ mode.

    Important: Running RM72 while other functions are running could cause unpredictable damage to data. This damage might not be recoverable.

  3. To close RM72 when the process is complete, press Escape.
