The Execute Customer Recode/Merge (RM85) program recodes/merges Customers/Prospects previously entered in Enter Customers for Recode/Merge (RM84). Once started, this program must run to completion.

• When RM85 completes the recode/merge, a transaction for each record that affects the Customer related databases maintained in iTopia is sent to the Service Monitor in PointForce iTopia and then a message is placed in the iBIS Queue Message view for each recode/merged record. Caution: RM85 should be run ALONE. Files throughout the system are affected.

Notes:

1. For details on merging customers that have tokenized credit card records in Customer/ShipTo for EFT Tokenization (AR05), click here.

2. The customer you are recoding/merging must be in a company that is reverse replicated from PointForce iTopia to PointForce Enterprise. If the company is not reverse replicated, the following message will display when you run RM85: "You may not Recode/Merge Customers for Company XX. ITopia is enabled for this company but it is not reverse replicated. OK".

Using RM85:

1. The Test option allows you to start the execution of the program but will not update any files.

   Note: Various files are checked to ensure that any programs that involve Customer information are completed. A message displays, indicating the program and/or warehouse, for any program that must be completed prior to running the 'Test' mode.

   As Customer records are found, a Verification Selection window automatically opens:

   • 1 Continue verifying this file - select this option to continue verifying each Customer recode/merge transaction as it comes up and click OK.
   • 2 Continue verifying this file without stopping at this question - select this option to continue verifying the file without stopping at the Verification Selection window and click OK.
   • 3 Start verifying the next file - select this option to verify the next file for the Customer recode/merge transaction and click OK.

2. The Start option allows you to start the Customer recode/merge update. You should run RM85 when no other programs are running. The re-coding and merging of customer information affects most of the applications in the system. As the RM85 runs a progress bar displays to indicate which file are updating.
   Note: Various files are checked to ensure that any programs that involve Customer information are completed. A message displays for any program that must be completed prior to running the 'Start' mode which identifies the program and/or warehouse.

   Note: Running RM85 while other programs are running can cause unpredictable damage to your data. This damage may not be recoverable.

3. When RM85 completes updating the files, a transaction is sent to the iBIS Queue Message view in PointForce iTopia for each recode/merge record. For more information on the iBIS Queue Message view, click here.

4. To close RM85, press Escape.
