Troubleshooting the Search Criteria folder (PS41)
Here are a number of common issues:
- I want to enter a Packing Number as my criteria, but the Packing No. field is unavailable.
The Packing Number field is unavailable only when other criteria types are entered. You can add the other criteria to the list box by clicking Add Criteria or you can clear the other criteria from by clicking Clear Criteria or you can delete the other criteria by clicking Delete Criteria. The Packing No. criteria is now available.
- I keep getting a message that the Packing Number is not Closed.
You must return to PS30/Packing Entry and Close the Pack before you can add it to a Shipment.
- The Ship To query is not available.
A Customer criteria must be selected in order to activate the Ship To query.
- The Customer Code I select as a criteria keeps getting rejected.
If you select a Paying Office and then select a Customer Code that is not associated with the selected Paying Office, the Customer Code cannot be used as a criteria.
- I am having a 'Warehouse' issue when I try to enter a Packing Number as my criteria
When a Shipper enters a Packing Number as a Search Criteria that has Sales Order(s) associated with a Warehouse that the Shipper does not have access to, the following message displays: "The Shipper SHIPPERID does not have access to warehouses assigned on orders of Packing No. XXXX. OK". Click OK to close the message. You must update the 'Warehouse' field in PS09/Shipper ID in order to allow this Shipper to enter the Packing Number as a Search Criteria.
- The Packing Number does not appear in the Search results list box, yet I have confirmed that it meets the criteria entered.
The root cause is the same as the item above: the Shipper does not have access to a Warehouse that is associated with a Sales Order(s) included in the Pack. When the Shipper enters Search Criteria (other than the Packing Number) for a Sales Order(s) associated with a Warehouse that the Shipper does not have access to, the Update Search process will not return the Packing Number as a Search result in the list box. You must update the 'Warehouse' field in PS09/Shipper ID in order to have the Packing Number displayed as a Search result.
- I have selected the 'Paying Office' check box for the Shipping Criteria in PS10 for Paying Office 1234. Yet when I perform the Update Search function, the results don't include Paying Office 1234.
This scenario can exist when you enter Search Criteria other than the Packing Number. The system searches for the first Sales Order that matches the first Criteria, THEN the system checks the Paying Office for that Sales Order. All Sales Orders in the list match the Paying Office of the first Sales Order found. If that Sales Order does not have a Paying Office of 1234, then the results won't be as you expect them.
