Carton Control

The Carton Control options are:

• Single Order - limits the Packer to fill a carton with only one Sales Order. If more than one carton is required for this Sales Order, then additional cartons must be used.

• Multi Order - allows the Packer to fill a carton with more than one Sales Order.

The Carton Control field is defined in Company Control Initialization (CC00/Packing Station). You can override the company default and identify the Carton Control setting at the Paying Office level in Maintain Paying Office Packing Criteria (PS10). An EDI Trading Partner, for example, typically mandates that you cannot pack multiple Sales Orders into one carton. As a Company default, you may wish to pack multiple orders into a single carton. This field allows you to set the Paying Office to single order, while the Company default remains multiple.

In addition, the Packer can change the Carton Control setting in Packing Entry (PS30/Carton Details). The Packer requires a Supervisor override to change this field, regardless of the Packer ID set up in Maintain Packing Station Tables (PS09/Packer Identification).

• Note: If you are working with the Carton Control field set to Multi-Order with more than one carton set up, and you try to switch from Multi-Order to Single Order, you will invoke the following error message: "This Packing Session has more than one order attached to it. Setting the Carton Control to 'Single' is not permitted. OK."
