Tag Method (PI11)
The Tag Method folder in Physical Inventory Page Total (PI11) is used by the Tag Full and Tag Partial count methods only.
When coded, numbered Tags are printed, the range of Tag numbers by Count Area is retained. The list box is automatically filled with the Tag ranges generated by program Print Inventory Tags (PI09).
Note: If blank Tags are printed in PI09 (using Format 1), you need to manually record those Tag ranges in PI11. As well as being used to verify that the count quantities were entered correctly, these Tag ranges are used by Print Tag Audit Reports (PI14) to report missing tags.
The following list defines every field on the Tag Method folder:
- The Count Area is defined in the header section. For more information, click here.
- From Tag - enter the beginning Tag number for the batch of Tags being counted.
- To Tag - enter the ending Tag number for the batch of Tags being counted.
- Count Total - enter the manually calculated total of count units for all Tags defined by the From/To Tag range.
- The Area List Box displays the information entered for the Count Area in PI09. Simply double click on each line in the list box and then update the 'Count Total' field.
- Once you click Verify Totals, the 'Qty Counted' field in the list box displays the totals entered in PI12 for each range of Tags. If the 'Count Total' and the PI12 totals do not match, an 'Out of Balance' warning displays at the end of the line.
The following table outlines the functionality of each button on the Tag folder:

Verify Totals |
|
Verifies or validates that the manually calculated total entered in PI11 and the accumulated computer total are equal for each range of Tags. Ranges that are not equal are flagged 'Out of Balance'. An 'Out of Balance' condition triggers a double-check to confirm that all count quantities were entered correctly and/or that the manual total is correct. |
