iTopia Quick Link from PointForce Enterprise
The iTopia Quick Link is designed to enable seamless access from your PointForce Enterprise (PFE)data to the corresponding or related iTopia views.
The Quick Link feature is available in the following PFE programs:
- AP45 - Display Vendor Accounts
- GL45 - Display Account Transactions
- GL46 - Display Yearly History
- IC45 - Display Product Availability
- IN45 - Display Invoices from History
- OE45 - Display Orders
- PS45 - Display Packing/Shipment Info
- SU09 - Support Tables/Ship Vias
- SU45 - Customer Inquiries
When you are in any of these programs, and you highlight or select a specific record from within the list box, and then right click on that record, a context sensitive menu opens that will link you to an associated view in iTopia.
- If you are already logged into iTopia and you access the Quick Link feature, the associated iTopia view automatically opens.
- If you are not currently logged into iTopia when you access the Quick Link feature, the iTopia login window initially opens. Once you log into iTopia, the associated view automatically opens.
- Note: Your iTopia user id must have the correct permissions to access the views in iTopia you are linking to. If your user id does not have the correct permissions for the view, the following message displays in iTopia: "You do not have sufficient permission". For details on how add the correct permissions, see the Troubleshooting Quick Link topic.
In order to fully understand how the iTopia Quick Link feature in PFE works, you must understand the Link To functionality used within iTopia.
- Within iTopia, you have the ability to select a specific record and from that record you can access a 'Link To' menu that takes you to a view related to the original record.
- In order to relate the views, iTopia automatically brings forward key data from the original record as Search Criteria or parameters to link to the related view. The Link To menu will only display views that have matching data in the Search Criteria field as the original record. This is how the views are 'linked to' one another.
The iTopia Quick Link from PFE works on the same premise: the record selected in the PFE program must contain the matching data in the Search Criteria field as the original record. When this is NOT the case, then iTopia will not launch and you will remain in the PFE program. For example, if you are in IC45/C5 and you have selected a Sales Order that does not have a Purchase Order allocated to it, and you want to Quick Link to a Purchase Order view, iTopia will not launch because the original record does not have a PO associated with it (the Search Criteria in this case is missing).
If there is no corresponding data in iTopia for the record you have selected then iTopia will display the following message: "No records were found which matched the search criteria".
