Assembled Sets

Assembled Sets are defined as any number of individually stocked items that, when sold collectively, make up a unique inventory item. You may stock and sell the set already “pre-packed” or you may stock the components and assemble the set only when new orders are requested or entered.

• Create a Product in Maintain Inventory Master (IM13) for the SET and for each of the component items:
  • The SET or 'set header record' is coded in the Type field as AS for Assembled Set.

  • The component items are coded as any of the following Product Types:
    • PP - Purchased Product
    • WO - Work Order
    • AI - Assortment Item

    Note: Component items in Assembled Sets cannot be Serial or Lot controlled.

• Identify the components of the Assembled set in Model Maintenance (IM29/Assembled Sets folder).
