The Maintain Default Messages (FX09) program is used to configure default Subject and Body Text messages for various forms that can be e-mailed.
The following defines every field in FX09:
- Form Code - from the drop down list, select a Form Code. Form codes represent the programs that produce the default e-mail messages. Valid options include:
- AR85
- IN42
- IN50
- IN51
- OE30
- PO42
- OE30
- SE30
- SE45
- Language - enter or select from the query a Language code. If your product services a multilingual client, supplier, etc. base, you should set up an FX09 record for each language. If you do not set up default messages for each language, then the subject and body text are omitted when documents are sent via email in 'batch' mode. In 'on demand' mode, you are forced to enter some text in both fields before the email is sent.
- Note: 'Batch' and 'on demand' modes are set up on the Forms eXpress folder of Company Control Initialization (CC00).
- For example, let's say we have a customer, 'ENGLISH', set up in SU13 with a language code of English and another customer, 'FRENCH', set up with a language code of French. Let's also say that our FX09 record for IN42 is set up in English only. If we are set up in 'batch' mode, then when we send an email to these two customers in IN42, the email going to 'ENGLISH' customer will have a default subject and body text as defined in FX09, but the email going to 'FRENCH' customer will have both fields blank. In order for our 'FRENCH' customer to have the default information in the email populated, we must create an FX09 record with a language code of French for IN42.
- Subject - enter the text that is to display on the Subject line of the email for the selected Form Code/Language.
- Note: There are some characters that are not allowed in the Subject field. You cannot enter the following characters in the subject field: / \ : * ? < > |. If any of these characters are entered in the Subject field the following message displays: "The subject cannot contain any of the following characters: / \ : * ? < > |. OK". Click OK to close the message and remove any of these characters from the Subject field.
- Body Text - enter the text that is to display in the Body of the email for the selected Form Code/Language.
- List Box - displays the default Subject and/or Body Text that exist for the current Form Code/Language record.
