Trading Partners (EI01)
The Trading Partners (EI01) program is used to link the Trading Partner code in ProEDI to the Customer code, Supplier code or Warehouse code in PointForce Enterprise. Typically, EI01 is set up by your PointForce Enterprise EDI Support team.
The following list defines every field in EI01:
- Trading Partner - enter or select from the query a Trading Partner code. The Trading Partner codes are defined in Maintain EDI Parameters (CC87/TP). The Trading Partner code can be a maximum of 8 alpha-numeric characters in length.
- Description - enter the Trading Partner name. The description can be a maximum of 30 alpha-numeric characters in length.
- Cust/Supp/Whse - enter or select from the query a Customer, Supplier or Warehouse code for this Trading Partner.
- When you click on the query, the following message displays: "Do you want to process a Supplier? Yes/No".
- Select Yes and a list of Vendor codes from Maintain Vendors (AP13) displays allowing you to select a Vendor code.
- Select No and the following message displays: "Do you want to process a Warehouse? Yes/No".
- Select Yes and a list of Warehouse codes from Maintain Sales Office/Whse Numbers (CC96) displays allowing you to select a Warehouse.
- Select No and a list of Customer codes from SU13 displays allowing you to select a Customer code. Note: The Customer Code must be a Paying Office.
- PO Reserve Customer - enter or select from the query the Customer code from SU13 that is set up as the PO Reserve Customer. This is an optional field.
- The 'PO Reserve Customer' is used for 'bulk' Sales Orders that are created to reserve stock in Create Sales Orders (EI25). The Ship Quantity on the bulk Order is reduced as 'release' Orders for that PO number are received for the goods. Caution: Bulk Orders should never have a shipping document created in Print Shipping Documents (OE34).
- Communications Group - enter or select from the query a Network type from the EDI Networks list. The EDI Network list is maintained in Maintain EDI Parameters (CC87). Note: the Communications Group is also referred to as a VAN (Value Added Network) or a direct connection to a Trading Partner.
