Commodity Codes (IM09)

The CRM Areas of Interest-Commodity view allows you to add a Commodity code to an Area of Interest. Commodity codes are comprised of Product Line and Product Group codes. This view allows you to further divide the CRM Areas of Interest by Commodity code for your Customers and/or Prospects.

  • Areas of Interest are created in the CRM Areas of Interest view. For more information on the Areas of Interest view, click here.

  • Product Lines and Product Groups are maintained in Maintain Inventory Tables (IM09)/Commodity Codes. For more information on Commodity Codes in IM09, click here.

Note: The ability to create and update information in the CRM Areas of Interest-Commodity view is controlled by the permissions (create, read, update and delete) assigned to the resource within the role. This help topic assumes that you have the appropriate permissions to create and update records in the Account Areas of Interest view. For more information, see Role Master-Permissions.

Note: You cannot edit the CRM Areas of Interest-Commody information on either the Search Criteria/Grid page or on the Details page. If a record was created in error or the CRM Area of Interest-Commodity has changed for the Account, you must delete the record and create a new one.

The following fields are available on the CRM Areas of Interest-Commodity view and are based on the order in which they appear in the grid on the search page:

  • Company - every record in the PointForce iTopia SQL database includes the Company Number. When reviewing the results from your search, the Company Number will display for all CRM Area of Interest-Commodity records.

  • CRM Areas of Interest - displays a short description of the Area of Interest.

  • Description - displays the full Description of the CRM Areas of Interest.

  • Product Line - displays the Product Line code assigned to the CRM Area of Interest.

  • Product Line Description - displays the full description of the Product Line.

  • Product Group - displays the Product Group code assigned to the CRM Area of Interest.

  • Product Group Description - displays the full description of the Product Group.
