How to Reactivate Locked Users

The Locked User Reactivation (meta_md_user.reactivate_locked) resource is part of the System Monitor module of iTopia. This resource allows you to reactivate internal users that have locked themselves out.

The following parameters apply to the Locked User Reactivation resource:

Parameter Description
First Name The user's first name to include.
Is Active A parameter that indicates whether or not the user is currently active.
The following options are available: Yes (default) and No.
A value of Yes indicates that this user is currently active.
A value of No indicates that this user is deactivated. A deactivated user no longer has access to the system.
Last Name The user's last name to include.
LDAP Instance Name The LDAP instance to include.
LDAP User Name The LDAP user to include.
When the UMS authentication method is set to 1 - LDAP, the user must specify the LDAP user name. The LDAP user name is used to connect to LDAP.
The LDAP user name must include a domain specification. For example, both bob@tecsys and bobby@sce can be specified. The users are defined on the same LDAP instance (i.e. server), but in different domains.
The LDAP user name supports any syntax that LDAP supports for the user name.
Role Name The user role name to include.
UMS Maximum Login Attempts The maximum number of consecutive unsuccessful attempts logging into the system the user is assigned.
Once the value of User Login Attempts is equal to or exceeds the value of this parameter, the user is deactivated and is no longer able to log in to the system. In this case, the user must contact their system administrator.
This parameter can be maintained through the user's profile.
User Name The user name to include.

How to Reactivate Locked Users

Only users set up as system administrators can reactivate a locked user.

  1. Launch the Locked User Reactivation resource.

  2. Specify the selection criteria.

  3. Choose Activate to process the request.

  4. You can optionally perform the following validation/verification:

    • You can validate that the procedure was successful by viewing the user ID that was reset in the Users view.

    • You can verify the processing exceptions using the Task Logs for the Task ID provided when the request was submitted.
