Global Transaction Types

The Global Transaction Types (md_gtrans_type) view allows you to add, modify, copy, and delete records in the global transaction types table.

  • The global transaction types table allows two or more applications to share a defined name and joins those transaction scopes together.

  • This enables data movement from one application to another while ensuring that if either fails and is rolled back at the database level, they will both be rolled back.

The following list defines every field available in the global transaction types (md_gtrans_type) table in alphabetical order:

  • Created By - displays the name of the user who created the record you are viewing or maintaining. May not be overridden.

  • Created On - displays the date on which the record that you are creating or maintaining was created. May not be overridden. May also represent the creation date of the records you are attempting to retrieve.

  • Database Name - this field is maintainable in creation mode only, when it appears in the key subview. The unique identifier for the database. May only contain lowercase characters.

    • Note: The name must be representative of the defined database.

  • Descriptions - an expression column that shows the text associated with the description literal key or the overridden description.

  • Description Literal Key - the literal key that describes the global transaction type.

  • Global Transaction Type Name - this field is maintainable in creation mode only, when it appears in the key subview. The unique identifier for the global transaction types.
