Receiving Products into Multi-bin Warehouses:

When receiving products entered in Enter Receipts/In-Transits (PO60) for a multi-bin warehouse, the following message displays when you initially open PO63: "Use the general receiving bin for all receipts? Yes/No".

  • If you select Yes, the Receipt is updated to the list box. All product is automatically received into the 'general' bin as defined in Company Control Initialization (CC00/Multi-Bin Warehouse Control).

  • If you select No, the Receive Lots and Serial Numbers window opens.

    • Enter or select from the Bin Location query the appropriate bin in which to allocate the product.
    • Enter all other appropriate information and then click Submit to update the record.
    • For more information on the Receive Lots and Serial Numbers window, click here.

Note: If you enter a Received quantity that is greater than or less than the quantity on the in-transit, and you try to exit the Receive Lots and Serial Numbers window, the following message displays: "Total assigned to bin/lot/serial is less than the receipt quantity. Cancel the difference of X? Yes/No". If you select Yes, the window closes and the following message displays: "Receipt quantity does not balance to the entered Lot/Serial number quantities. Do you want to retry entry? Yes/No".

  • If you select Yes, the Receive Lots and Serial Numbers window re-opens. You can make the necessary amendments and then update the record again.

  • If you select No, the receipt is removed from PO63. In order to receive the in-transit, you must do one of the following two options:

    • Accept the quantities entered in PO60 when receiving the receipt
      OR
    • Recall the in-transit into PO60 and modify the quantities.

Note: If you are receiving lot and/or serial controlled products into a multi-bin warehouse, please see the Receive Lot/Serial into Multibin Whs topic.
