G/L Post Standard Allocations (GL82)

The Post Standard Allocations (GL82) program handles the posting of standard allocations created in Maintain Standard Allocations (GL25). GL82 runs once a month, prior to closing the period. Prior to executing GL82, be sure all sub-ledgers have been closed and all Journal entries are made for the period. Then you must run the Preliminary GL Report via Preliminary/Final GL Report (GL81). GL82 uses the preliminary balance of the GL Account (calculated by GL81-Preliminary) to prepare the amounts to be allocated.

Note: GL82 calculates and posts standard allocations for the current period only into the GL Collector file; it does not allow you to "lay up" allocation entries into future periods because GL82 wouldn't have the proper account balance for that period yet. Therefore, if you are using the Reporting Future Periods programs (GL72-GL76) to obtain future financial reports, standard allocations will not be included.

Once GL82 starts, it runs automatically until complete. The standard allocations are calculated, an audit report is printed and upon acceptance of the report the standard allocations are posted to the GL Collector file. GL82 records that the postings have occurred, which stops any further standard allocations posting to that period.
