About Symbols

PointForce iTopia uses a variety of symbols to help you identify different types of attributes, statuses and other items that you will encounter while navigating the system. The following list provides the symbols that you will encounter while using iTopia:

Symbol Description
Close Browser Close the browser window. Appears on the Header Toolbar.
Launch Help Launch the Online Help. Appears on the Header Toolbar.
Logout Log out. Appears on the Header Toolbar.
Profile Go to the user's Profile page. Appears on the Header Toolbar.
Tools Menu Display the Tools menu. Appears on the Header Toolbar.
Return Return to the search results from the Details page.
Next Record From the Details page, go to the next record in the search results.
Previous Record From the Details page, go to the previous record in the search results.
Next Go to the next result set or the next page.
Previous Go to the previous result set or the previous page.
View Record Details Go to the Details page for the selected record.
Calendar Launch the Calendar.
Email Send an e-mail message to the specified address.
Execute Lookup Launch the execute lookup action which opens the master table associated with the field for which you want to lookup information.
Valid Values Displays criteria flyout menu.
Print Select an output device or execute the print action.
Criteria Helper Opens a criteria helper window providing you with a list of options, depending on the type of criteria selected. There are different helpers available for the different data types (character, date, number and time stamp)
Web Site Launch the specified Web site.
Select Record Appears in the results section of the Lookup page.
More Actions Launch a popup list of the generic and custom page-level actions associated with the current table. This action is found in the Actions Toolbar of the Details page.
Collapse Expand Collapse or expand a page section. For sections appearing on the Details page and within the criteria section of the Search page.
Export to Excel Launch the Export to Excel action. Appears on the Search page.
Generate Graph Launch the Graph function. Appears on the Search page.
Launch the Timeline function. Appears on the Search page.
Product Image View product image or other media type. Appears in the results section of the Search page.
Selected Check Box Select a row which contains a value to be returned as a Lookup value. Appears in the results section of the Search page for lookup views.
Record Add Flag that identifies a record that has been added to a table. Appears in the results section of the Search page.
Record Delete Flag that identifies a record that has been deleted from a table. Appears in the results section of the Search page.
Record Modify Flag that identifies a record that has been modified. Appears in the results section of the Search page.
Append a Row Append a row to an editable grid.
Delete a Row Delete a row from an editable grid.
Page Error Flag that identifies a page-level error.
Field Error Flag that identifies a field-level error.
Page Message Flag that identifies a page-level message.
Field Message Flag that identifies a field-level message.
Page Warning Flag that identifies a page-level warning.
Field Warning Flag that identifies a field-level warning.
Tecsys Page Flag that identifies a PointForce iTopia page and the environment that it accesses (in this case, a development environment). Appears before the URL in the address bar, as a prefix to a browser Favorite (bookmark), and as a prefix to the tab title (not available in Internet Explorer 6).
Training Page Flag that identifies a PointForce iTopia page and the environment that it accesses (in this case, a training environment). Appears before the URL in the address bar, as a prefix to a browser Favorite (bookmark), and as a prefix to the tab title (not available in Internet Explorer 6).
Testing Page Flag that identifies a PointForce iTopia page and the environment that it accesses (in this case, a testing or QA environment). Appears before the URL in the address bar, as a prefix to a browser Favorite (bookmark), and as a prefix to the tab title (not available in Internet Explorer 6).
Demo Page Flag that identifies a PointForce iTopia page and the environment that it accesses (in this case, a production or demo environment). Appears before the URL in the address bar, as a prefix to a browser Favorite (bookmark), and as a prefix to the tab title (not available in Internet Explorer 6).
Launch Resource Launch a Resource. Flag displayed next to the name of a resource that can be launched immediately when the icon is clicked.
Launch View Launch a View. Flag displayed next to the name of a view that can be launched immediately when the icon is clicked.
My Views My Views folder. Default image changes briefly after a dragged resource is successfully added to the My Views resource group. Image also changes briefly when the user hovers over the My Views folder, indicating that the My Views resource group will be opened if the image is clicked.
My Views Recycle My Views Recycling Bin. Default image changes briefly to that of a full trashcan after a dragged resource is successfully deleted from the My Views resource group.
Notifications Launch the Notifications resource allowing you to view notifications specific to the user ID logged into the system.
