Order Holds - Definitions

The Print Order Hold File (OE53) prints a list of Sales Orders on Hold and the reason for each Hold. The following list defines and explains the Holds that can be put on Sales Orders:

  • Ship Complete Hold - A Sales Order is put on Ship Complete hold if the Order is defined as 'Ship Complete' in Enter Orders/Quotes (OE30) and there are back orders on the Order. When the last back order is released, the Order is released and printed.

  • Manual Hold - A Sales Order is put on Manual Hold during Order entry if there is a problem with the Order and the Order is not to be printed until the problem is resolved; for example, if there is a pricing problem which requires investigation. The Order must be released manually once the problem is resolved.

In addition, when an Order is recalled using Recall Scheduled Orders (OE67), the Order is automatically placed on Manual Hold.

  • Credit Limit Exceeded - A Sales Order is put on Credit Hold if the Customer's status is set to 'Hold' in Maintain Customer Master (SU13/OE/AR) OR if the Customer's Accounts Receivable balance PLUS the value of the outstanding Orders exceeds the Customer's Credit Limit, as defined in SU13/OE/AR. Note: This test is done using the Customer's Paying Office. The Order can be released manually or will be automatically released by OE53 if cash is received and the Customer's account is below the Credit Limit.

  • Delinquency Hold - A Sales Order is put on Delinquency Hold if the Customer's account contains items that meet the delinquency criteria stipulated in SU13; for example, if 'Delinquency Days' field in SU13/OE/AR is set to 30, the Order will go on Delinquency Hold if the Customer has any items on their account that are greater than 30 days old. Note: This test is done using the Customer's Paying Office. The Sales Order can be released manually or automatically by OE53 when cash is received and the Customer's account is no longer in a delinquent position (as assigned via SU13).

  • Below Minimum Order Value - A Sales Order is put on Minimum Order Hold if the Total Shippable Value or Total Outstanding Value (depending on the 'Min. Order Method' setting in CC00/Order Entry) is less than the 'Minimum Order Value' defined in Company Control Initialization (CC00/Order Entry). This hold is released manually.

  • Below Minimum Backorder Value - A Sales Order is put on Minimum Backorder Hold when back orders are released and the Total Shippable Value or Total Outstanding Value (depending on the 'Min. Order Method' setting in CC00/Order Entry) of the back orders released is less than the 'Minimum Backorder Value' as defined in CC00/Order Entry. The Order is automatically released when more back orders on that Order are released, thus increasing the Shippable value to an amount greater than the Minimum Backorder Value, or when the last back order on the Order is released. The order can also be released manually.

  • Pricing Hold - A Sales Order is put on Pricing Hold when the Gross Margin Percent for the Order falls below the value specified in the 'GM % for Order Below' field in CC00/Order Entry/Order Review Selection Parameters. The Pricing Hold can be released manually using either Review Flagged Orders (OE62) or Release Orders on Hold (OE65).
