Price List Types

The different types of price list Types that can be created in the Product Price List (icis_icpl.im18) view and in Maintain Future Price Lists (IM21) are:

  1. Contract - allows you to maintain contract pricing for specific products, product lines or product groups. Extra Sales reporting is available with contract pricing.

    • You can specify a start and end date for the contract.

    • Contract pricing can be restricted by order source or order type.

    • Contract prices are only available to customers with the contract price list assigned to them in the Customers (ibis_sucu) view.

    • If a paying office is involved, you only need to assign the contract price list to the paying office in the Customers (ibis_sucu) view and all customers related to that paying office automatically receive the price for the duration of the contract.

    • Contract statistics can be traced using the S/A Contract Sales Print (ibis_sa87) report.

    • If your supplier gave you a special price for a product on a contract price list, you can record the contract cost in Product Price List by Product (ibis_icplp.im18). This cost is passed to the S/A Contract Sales Print (ibis_sa87) report and provides you with more realistic gross margin statistics on products priced using the contract selling price.

  2. Special - allows you to maintain special pricing on specific products, product lines or product groups. specials function the same as contracts but without any extra sales reporting.

    • You can specify a start and end date for the special.

    • Special pricing can be restricted by order source or order type.

    • Special prices are only available to customers with the special price list assigned to them in the Customers (ibis_sucu) view.

    • If a paying office is involved, you only need to assign the special price list to the paying office in the Customers (ibis_sucu) view and all customers related to that paying office automatically receive the special price for the duration of the special.

  3. Common Quote - allows you to maintain a price list for specific products, product lines or product groups that is typically "common" to most or all customers. For example, common quotes can be used for pricing clearance products.

    • You can specify a start and end date for the common quote.

    • Common quote pricing is only available to customers with the 'Common Quote Eligible' flag set to Yes in the Customers (ibis_sucu) view.

  4. Flyer - supports promotions on specific products, product lines or product groups. Flyers are typically used for weekly or monthly or seasonal promotions.

    • You can specify a start and end date for the flyer.

    • Flyer pricing can be restricted based on a variety of criteria: sales rep, sales office, province/state, class of trade, territory, sales group, order source or order type. This enables you to promote different flyers based on a geographical area or on a certain segment of your customer base.

    • Flyer pricing is available to customers with the 'Flyer Eligible' flag set to Yes in the Customers (ibis_sucu) view.

    • Flyer sales can be tracked using the S/A Flyer Sales Print (ibis_sa85) report.

    • If your supplier gave you a special price for a product on a flyer price list, you can record the flyer cost in Product Price List by Product (ibis_icplp.im18). This cost is passed to the S/A Flyer Sales Print (ibis_sa85) report and provides you with more realistic gross margin statistics on products priced using the flyer selling price.

  5. Master - stores your regular list prices by product for up to 7 quantity breaks.

    • The only pricing method allowed is fixed prices.

    • You have the ability to create multiple master price lists. For example, US versus Canadian prices or Wholesale versus Retail prices.
