Additional Information
CRM Areas of Interest

The Account Areas of Interest view allows you to assign an Area of Interest to each Account (Customer/Prospect). Each Area of Interest code is associated with a product, product line or service offered by your company. With the Area of Interest code assigned to the Customer record, you can create lists of Customers/Prospects that can be used as the basis for marketing campaigns targeting Trade Shows, product specials or discounts, etc. Area of Interest codes are maintained in the CRM Areas of Interest view.

Note: The ability to create and update information in the Account Areas of Interest view is controlled by the permissions (create, read, update and delete) assigned to the resource within the role. This help topic assumes that you have the appropriate permissions to create and update records in the Account Areas of Interest view . For more information, see Role Master-Permissions.

Note: You cannot edit the Account Areas of Interest information on either the Search Criteria/Grid page or on the Details page. If a record was created in error or the Area of Interest has changed for the Account, you must delete the record and create a new one.

The following fields are available on the Account Areas of Interest and are based on the order in which they appear in the grid on the search page:

  • Company - every record in the PointForce iTopia SQL database includes the Company Number. When reviewing the results from your search, the Company Number will display for all Account/Areas of Interest records.

  • Customer Code - displays the Customer Code for every customer record.

  • Customer Name - displays the Customer/Prospect name associated with the Customer Code.

  • Account Type - displays the Account Type (Customer or Prospect).

  • CRM Areas of Interest - displays the Area of Interest related to the Account. Note: A Customer/Prospect may have multiple Areas of Interest.
