Service Call Time Types (SE12)

The Time Types (SE12) program is used to define different types of labour charges. A Time Type code must be entered for each labour line entered in Enter Service Calls (SE30).

The following list defines every field in SE12:

  • Time Type - enter or select from the query a time type code. You can enter a maximum of 3 alpha numeric character in this field. This is a mandatory field.

    • The Time Type controls the Product Code and T.A.T. code that will be used on the invoice generated by the Invoice Listing and Creation (SE42) program.

  • Time Type Description - enter a description of the time type. You can enter a maximum of 20 alpha numeric characters in this field. This is a mandatory field.

  • Time Category - enter or select from the query a time category. Each Time Type must be assigned to a system-defined Time Category. The pre-defined Time Categories are:

    • 1 - Field Time
    • 2 - Overtime
    • 3 - Travel
    • 4 - Down Time
    • 5 - Misc.

    Technician statistics track hours worked by the technician by time category, and can be printed by running the Technician Activity Report (SE50).

  • Product - enter or select from the query a 'Class Product' type product code. For more information about Class Products, click here.

  • TAT code - enter or select from the query a TAT code. TAT codes are defined in Maintain T.A.T. Codes (IN02).

The following table outlines the functionality of each button on the Time Types panel:

Submit Submit Saves the information entered for the current record and clears all of the fields that do not contain defaults.
Delete Delete Deletes the current record.
Clear Clear Clears all of the fields that do not contain defaults allowing you to enter a new Time Type record.
