S/A Royalty Exemptions (SA08_SARE)

The S/A Royalty Exemptions (ibis_sare.sa08) resource allows you to exempt specific customers from paying royalties to specific licensors. Here are a two examples of Royalty exemptions:

  • Disney stores will not pay royalties on Disney products.

  • Royalties on sales are not paid to Canadian customers who have their own royalty agreements with the licensor(s).

When customers purchase products from licensors that are associated with royalty exemptions:

  • S/A Unpaid Royalties (SA57) displays the invoice with a royalty amount equal to zero.
  • S/A Outstanding Royalty Print (SA58) displays the invoice with the exempt flag set to 'L' or 'E'.

The following list defines every field in the S/A royalty exemptions (ibis_sare) table:

  • Company - the company field is available when you create a new record. The company defaults to the company assigned to your user id in the Session Parameters view. You can change the default company during the creation process only. Once the record is created, the company to which the record is associated displays in the General section (at the top of the view).

  • Created By - displays the name of the user who created the record you are viewing or maintaining. May not be overridden.

  • Created On - displays the date on which the record that you are creating or maintaining was created. May not be overridden. May also represent the creation date of the records you are attempting to retrieve.

  • Customer - displays the customer. Validated against the account master (ibis_sucu) table. Once you create a new royalty exemption record, you cannot edit this field.

  • Licensor - displays the licensor. Validated against the vendor master file (ibis_apvf) table. Once you create a new royalty expemption record, you cannot edit this field.

    • A value of ****** (six '*') indicates all licensors.

  • Modification Counter - this field is not maintainable. The date and time the record was last modified.

  • Modified By - this field is not maintainable. The user or system process that last modified the record.

  • Modified On - this field is not maintainable. The date on which the record was last modified.

  • Royalty Exemption Type - displays the type of exemption. Valid options include:

    • L - Licensor indicates that the customer is exempt from paying royalties as they are the licensor. For example, Disney stores do not pay royalties on Disney products.
    • E - Exempt/Export indicates that the customer is a distributor who already has their own licensing agreement with the licensor.
