G/L Last Year Balance Print/Post (GL96)

The Print & Post Last Year Balances (GL96) provides an audit report of Voucher entries made in Enter History (GL95) and then posts the entries to the designated period end balance in the General Ledger Account record.

  • Period end balances in the GL Account History file are updated once GL96 is Accepted. The Debit/Credit amount will be NETTED into the period's existing balance.

  • You have the opportunity to print the report and review it for possible errors before the entries are posted.

  • If any errors are found, for example an incorrect Account number, you have the option to Abort the report. You can then make corrections as required in GL95.

Follow these steps to generate the Last Year Balances report:

  1. The Printer Selection screen automatically opens. Select the device destination and click OK.

  2. The Report Complete screen opens when the report is generated. Depending on the print device selected, you are presented with one of the following two options:

    1. If you are printing the report to a local printer device, PDF file or to your screen, enter the Acceptance Codes to accept the report, click Restart to restart the printing of the report, or click Abort to cancel the report.

    2. If you are sending the report via an email or fax device, click OK to accept the report, click Restart to restart the fax/email (not always applicable), or click Abort to cancel the report.
