G/L Report Parameters Print (GL06)

The Print Report Parameters (GL06) program produces a listing of the report parameters defined in Maintain Report Parameters (GL05). The listing is a mock-up of the actual report (going top to bottom, not the columns across the top of a report page). GL06 can be used to verify:

  • Spacing between lines.
  • Page breaks.
  • Indentation for headings, detail lines and total lines.
  • GL Accounts included on each report detail line.
  • The formula for subtotal and grand total lines.

The report line numbers are shown to the left of the description for reference if a report line needs to be recalled for modification or to see if there is room between two report lines for insertion of new lines. Tip: the Renumber Lines routine in GL05 can be used to open up space between report lines to allow for insertions.

A minus sign (-) after a line number or under a column header indicates that the line is flagged for a sign change.

A 'C' following a line number indicates that the line is a 'Continuation' of GL Accounts from the line above.

GL06 is often used as a worksheet when new lines need to be inserted to an existing report. The changes are recorded in GL06 and then are used as the input document for GL05.
