GL Maintain Header 'B' type columns

The GL Maintain Header 'B' type columns screen is accessed by clicking Maintain in Maintain Report Parameters (GL05). This button is only activated when the 'Types of Headers' section is set to 'User Defined Columns (B)' in GL05.

The following list defines every field on the 'GL Maintain Header 'B' type columns' screen:

  • Column - enter the Column number with which you want to work. If you are creating a Total line, click Total and a 'T' automatically displays in this field.

  • Change Sign - is for display purposes only and does not affect calculations. When you select the check box, a leading minus sign is NOT printed on credit Account balances. This is appropriate for all Revenue, Liability and Equity Accounts. When this check box is not selected, a leading minus sign IS printed on credit Account balances. This is appropriate for Asset and Expense Accounts with a credit balance.

  • Formula - Formulas consist of one or more of the following elements:

    • a Column number
    • a plus sign (+)
    • a minus sign (-)

OR an upper-case 'P', which is used to indicate that Column is the total of previous Columns back to, and including, the last sub-total Column.

Note: If this Column is not a sub-total Column, the Formula field should be blank.
