Restricted Customer Products (SURP.SU23)

The Restricted Customer Products (ibis_surp.su23) view allows you to restrict products for specific customers. You must have the e-Commerce module activated, in order to set up product restrictions as these restrictions apply only to your e-Commerce web site. Customers with product restrictions cannot add the restricted products to their shopping carts.

There is a relationship between restricted products (surp.su23) and e-Commerce Contact Reference Entry (ibis_ec31/Customer Accounts):

  • The product restriction/customer relationship is set up in this view (surp.su23).

  • In EC31/Customer Accounts, a relationship between the contact and the account (customer) is set up. A contact can be associated with multiple accounts. For each contact/account record, there is a Restricted Products Apply flag.

  • In order for the product restrictions to apply to the contact, the Restricted Products Apply flag in EC31 must be set.

Note: You cannot edit the company, customer code, product code information on either the Search Criteria/Grid page or on the Details page. If a record was created in error or the product restriction has changed for the customer, you must delete the record and create a new one.

Note: The ability to create and update information in Customer Restricted Products (ibis_surp) is controlled by the permissions (create, read, update and delete) assigned to the resource within the role. This help topic assumes that you have the appropriate permissions to create and update records in Customer Restricted Products. For more information, see Role Master-Permissions.

The following list defines every field available in the customer restricted products (surp) table in alphabetical order:

  • Company - the company field is available when you create a new customer restriction product record. The company defaults to the company assigned to your user id in the Session Parameters view. You can change the default company during the customer product restriction creation process only. Once the customer product restriction record is created, the company to which the record is associated displays in the General section (at the top of the view).

  • Created By - displays the name of the user who created the record you are viewing or maintaining. May not be overridden.

  • Created On - displays the date on which the record that you are creating or maintaining was created. May not be overridden. May also represent the creation date of the records you are attempting to retrieve.

  • Customer - enter or select from the look up the customer code for which the product restriction is being created. This field is validated against the Customers (ibis_sucu) table. This field is only available when you create new product restriction records. Once the record is created, the customer to which the product restriction is associated displays in the General section (at the top of the view).

  • Customer Selectable - this field is currently available for future custom use. You can also use this field for 'self defined' purposes. Select Yes or No from the drop list.

  • Modification Counter - this field is not maintainable. The date and time the record was last modified.

  • Modified By - this field is not maintainable. The user or system process that last modified the record.

  • Modified On - this field is not maintainable. The date on which the record was last modified.

  • Product Code - enter or select from the look up a product code to which the restriction applies. This field is validated against the Products (ibis_ici1.im13) table. This field is only available when you create new product restriction records. Once the record is created, the product to which the product restriction is associated displays in the General section (at the top of the view).
