Sales Groups (SAR_SU09)

The Sales Groups (ibis_sar) view allows you to define the sales groups which are assigned to customers or prospects in the Customers (ibis_sucu.su13) view. You can also assign sales groups to leads in the Lead Master (crmlead) views.

The sales group codes categorize customers/prospects into market groups over and above class of trade, territory or sales rep. This enables customers to be reviewed and reports to be printed in sales group/customer sequence.

Note: The ability to create and update information in the Sales Groups (ibis_sar) table is controlled by the permissions (create, read, update and delete) assigned to the resource within the role. This help topic assumes that you have the appropriate permissions to create and update records in Sales Group. For more information, see Role Master-Permissions.

The following list defines every field available in the sales groups (sar) table in alphabetical order:

  • Company - the company field is available when you create a new sales group record. The company defaults to the company assigned to your user id in the Session Parameters view. You can change the default company during the sales group creation process only. Once the sales group record is created, the company to which the record is associated displays in the General section (at the top of the view).

  • Created By - displays the name of the user who created the record you are viewing or maintaining. May not be overridden.

  • Created On - displays the date on which the record that you are creating or maintaining was created. May not be overridden. May also represent the creation date of the records you are attempting to retrieve.

  • Modification Counter - this field is not maintainable. The date and time the record was last modified.

  • Modified By - this field is not maintainable. The user or system process that last modified the record.

  • Modified On - this field is not maintainable. The date on which the record was last modified.

  • Sales Group - enter a sales group code. This code can be a maximum of 3 alpha numeric characters in length. Once the record is created, you cannot modify this field.

  • Sales Group Name - enter the name associated with the sales group code. The sales group name can be a maximum of 20 alpha numeric characters in length.

    • The sales group name prints as a report sub-heading whenever an accounts receivable or sales analysis report is printed in Sales Group sequence.
