Evolve Domain Name (CC00)

The Evolve E-Commerce\Domain Name Company Mappings folder allows you to map Domain Names to specific Companies set up internally. This enables you to support more than one Web Site. In addition, you can map multiple website addresses (domain names) to one company.

The following list defines each of the fields on the Evolve E-Commerce\Domain Name Company Mappings folder:

• Domain Name - enter the location of your Web Site, or your Domain Name. For example, a Domain Name can be www.Tecsys.com.

• Company - enter or select from the query the Company from the Pointforce Enterprise Company Selection window. This links the Web Site to the appropriate Company code (or database).

• Default - if you have multiple Domain Names mapped to specific Companies, you must set one Company as the default. If you only have one Domain Name, then that will automatically become the default. If you have multiple Domain Names, the first Domain Name entered will be selected as the default.

  You can change this default setting at any time:

  • To change the default domain, select the domain name and then select this flag.

  • You can only flag one domain as the default.

  Note: You cannot delete the record flagged as the default.

• Public Index Name – select the appropriate public index name from the drop list. The drop list displays the index records maintained in Catalog Publishing (EC10/Categories).

• Menu System – enter or select from the query the appropriate menu system. This field is validated against Menu Systems (EC09).

• Home Page – enter or select from the query the appropriate home page. This field is validated against HTML Page Templates (EC05).

• Logo Banner – select the appropriate logo banner from the drop list. The drop list displays logo class records maintained in Web Graphics (EC07).

• Banner Graphic – select the appropriate banner graphic from the drop list. The drop list displays banner class records maintained in EC07.

• Footer Object – select the appropriate footer object from the drop list. The drop list displays foot class records maintained in HTML Objects (EC03).

• EC16 Ad Package Prefix – enter the prefix to be used for advertising packages. The purpose of this field is to identify advertising packages created in Maintain Advertising Packages (EC16) via the prefix. Statistics are captured in EC files (for example, ECAL, ECALD, and so on) and can be reported against using report writing tools like iTopia or Crystal.

• Customer for Public Price Browsing – enter or select from the query the customer to be used for public browsing on the web site. This field is validated against the Customer Master (SU13).

The following list defines each of the buttons on the Evolve e-Commerce\Domain Name Company Mappings folder:

Submit		Saves the information entered for the current domain.
Delete		Deletes the current domain.
Clear		All fields clear allowing you to add a new domain.
Delete All		Displays the following message: "Warning: Any ProvideX Web server Task Handlers currently running will not acquire the wwwpgm\start_up.pvx's hard-coded default company number until they are stopped and restarted. Do you wish to delete ALL Domain Name Company Mappings? Yes/No". Select Yes to delete all domain names or select No to cancel the request.
