Refreshing a Test Company (PFE Data ONLY)

This program allows the user to copy all data files from the Live Company (Co11) to the Test Company (Co10) for PointForce Enterprise (PFE) data only. If you are running PointForce iTopia (PFiT), please refer to Refreshing a Test Company (PFE & PFiT) topic.

  • This program deletes all Co10 data files first before the copy begins.

  • This program is designed to search each data directory in the "Data" Prefix for files associated with your test and live companies.

  • It does not copy "00" files (like 00MCMF) or any other files not associated with the Test or Live companies.

  • Warning: The program is hard coded to copy from Co11 to Co10. A one-line program change is required if the From/To companies are anything else.

Before you start:

  • WinSol/Enterprise may NOT be running on any workstations while the refresh is running because open files will not be copied.

  • Once all users are logged out you should REBOOT YOUR SERVER to ensure that there are no hung processes running that will cause problems with the refresh.

  • You must have a current backup of all data files archived.

The following list defines the steps required to refresh your test company:

  1. Using CC48, ensure you are the only user on the system in WinSol/Enterprise.

  2. Execute program CC93. This is a special program that does nothing but bounce the user out to the ProvideX command prompt.
Close ALL other WinSol/Enterprise tasks on your task bar, including your own, leaving only the CC93-Program Edit Window open on your PC.

  3. From the ProvideX command prompt, type: run "cc9111" and hit [Enter]. Note: If there are any menu files open then this program will not proceed; go to step 7.

  4. You will be prompted to enter a password. The expected password is case-sensitive with no spaces or punctuation. The password is letmein (typed in lower case). Enter the password and then hit [Enter].

  5. Read the dialog message and ensure that the From/To company numbers contained in the message are correct. If not, or if you simply wish to exit the program, then at the prompt "Are you ready to start?" respond "N" and go to step 8. If the From/To company numbers are wrong then contact the Support Department to request the appropriate change to the refresh program.

  6. If the From/To company numbers are correct then at prompts "Have you done a BACKUP?" and "Are you ready to start?" respond "Y".

  7. The duration of the refresh depends on the size of the data files. The copy could run from 5 minutes to a few hours. When the copy is finished, the program returns to the ProvideX command prompt.

  8. Type: run "menu" to get back into WinSol/Enterprise.

Note: If there are any errors/problems during the copy process you will be missing files in the Test (destination) company but your Live (source) company files will be fine.
