Multi-Bin Warehouse (CC00)

The Multi-Bin Warehouse Control folder specifies the Bin location coding system in a multi-bin Warehouse, and identifies both the Receiving and Product Return areas within the Warehouse. Note: Multi-Bin Warehouse Control is an optional module that is not included in the base Enterprise package.

The following list defines every field on the Multi-Bin Warehouse Control folder:

  • Whse - enter or select from the query the Warehouse to which the Multi-Bin fields are applied.

  • Bin/Loc Coding Structure - the Bin Location coding structure must be listed in the following order: Zone, Aisle, Section and Level, where the 'code' for each is:

    • z = Zone
    • a = Aisle
    • s = Section
    • l  = Level

The coding structure can be a maximum of 8 characters in length. Here is an example of a Bin/Loc Coding Structure: zaassl, where the first character represents the Zone, the second and third characters represent the Aisle, the forth and fifth characters represent the Section, and the sixth character represents the Level.

Note: Populating this field enables you to use the functionality connected to the the 'Auto Modify' and 'Auto Create' buttons in the Warehouse Layout Maintenance (WH10) program. If this field is left blank these buttons are still enabled but we strongly advise against selecting them as errors can occur if data is entered and updated on the Warehouse Layout Auto Creation/Modification panel that opens when either of these buttons are clicked. For more information on 'Auto Modify' and ' Auto Create' button in WH10 click here.

  • General Receiving Bin/Location - enter or select from the query the area in the Warehouse where stock is received. This is a temporary holding area for the stock where, for example, it is taken from the container and organized into Pallets and then put into the Warehouse Bins. This field is not mandatory.

    • The Enterprise programs through which Stock is received are Enter Receipts/In-Transits (PO60), Enter Inventory Adjustments (IC50), and Receive In-Transits to Stock (PO63).

  • Credit Notes Rec Bin/Loc - enter or select from the query the area in the Warehouse where Product returns are received. This is a temporary holding area for the stock where, for example, it is organized into Pallets and then put back onto the Warehouse shelves. This field is mandatory.

    • The Enterprise program through which Product returns are received is Enter Inv/Direct Bills/Credits (IN41).

  • Split picking from open stock and bulk - when selected, the picking of Products is separated between 'open' stock bins and 'bulk', overstock bins.

  • Manufacturer's Lot Picking Sequence - allows you to have Manufacturer's Lot controlled Products picked in Lot Number/Bin sequence instead of Bin/Lot Number (Multi-Bin's regular default). You can have the oldest stock picked first from the Bins when Schedule Orders for Printing (OE32) is executed. Note: This option is only available if you are using Lot Control for products; i.e. the Lot Control field in CC00/Inventory Control must be selected.

Valid options available from the drop down list include:

    • Bin/Mfg Lot Number - Product is selected by Bin/Lot Number; Multi-Bin operates normally (default).

    • Mfg Lot Number/Bin - Product is selected by the Manufacturer's Lot Number from the Bins.

When you click on Update, the following message displays: "Bins/Locations have automatically been created for the Credit Notes Rec Bin/Loc and the General Receiving Bin/Loc (if entered). They may be reviewed and/or changed in WH10 (Warehouse Layout Maintenance). OK". Select OK to close the message window. Note: Closing this message window also closes CC00.
