Languages (SU09)

The Languages folder in SU09 is related to some Customer Support programs, for example PointForce e-Commerce.

  1. Enter or select from the Query the Company Language code. The Language code is a 2 character code set up in Maintain Company Languages (CC17).

  2. When the Language code is entered, the Primary Language Name and Display Name from CC17 automatically display.

  3. Select the Primary Language for Customers checkbox to define the Language displayed as the primary language for customers.

    • To change the Primary Language, select the checkbox associated with the appropriate Language and click Update. The new Language automatically becomes the Primary Language for Customers.

  4. The Active checkbox must be selected when the 'Primary Language for Customers' field is selected. If you are using e-Commerce, only active Languages in SU09 are available as Language choices for your customers on the Web.

  5. The HTML Page Title text appears at the top of e-Commerce Web pages in the title bar. In the HTML Page Title field, enter the text to appear in the title bar of all e-Commerce Web pages. Here is an example of where the HTML Page Title text displays on the web page:

    • Note: If the 'HTML Page Title' field in Product Publishing (EC13) is populated with text, then the EC13 information appears on all individual Product display pages. The text entered in SU09 will not display.

  6. The Global HTML Meta Keywords field is an optional e-Commerce field. Enter keywords that an Internet search engine (e.g. Google) may use to improve the quality of search results. The keywords must be separated by a comma.

    • For Product pages on the e-Commerce website, the keywords entered here are added to the keywords entered in Product Publishing (EC13/Description).

    • For Category pages on the e-Commerce website, the keywords entered here are added to the keywords entered in Catalogue Publishing (EC10/'Advanced Language Attributes' on Menu bar)

  7. The Additional HTML Meta Keywords for Homepage is an optional e-Commerce field. Enter keywords, separated by commas, to be added to the Meta Keywords on the Homepage of all Customer applications.

  8. The HTML Meta Description for Default Pages is an optional e-Commerce field. Meta Descriptions are short, concise descriptions of the contents of a Web page used by some search engines to display a summary of the page. The Meta Description entered here is used only if a Meta Description has not been entered in EC13/Description program or in EC10/Advanced Language Attributes (found under the Edit menu) program.

  9. When all of the information is entered, click Update to add the information.
    • Once the Company Language code is entered into the system, it cannot be deleted.

Note: Most of the fields on the SU09/Languages folder relate to e-Commerce. For more information on setting up e-Commerce, please contact your Enterprise Account Representative.
