The Products folder in the Category Relations (EC11) program allows you to define the products that display on the web page associated with the Parent Category entered in the header section.

The following list defines every field on the Products folder:

  • In the Header section:

    • Parent Category - enter or select from the query the product category you want to use a Parent Category. On the Products folder, you want to select product categories in the Parent Category field that have products associated with them. The product category can also be used as a Child Category on the Relation folder in EC11.

  • In the Detail section:

    • Product - enter or select from the query a product code that you want to attach to the current Parent Category. The code entered here displays on the website when the customer clicks on the Parent Category. The product displays on the web page along with any other products that are assigned to the parent category.

    • Active - select this check box to indicate that the product assigned to the current Parent Category is available for publishing on the website. When this check box is not selected, the product is not published on the website under the Product Category.

    • Primary Category - this field is not active. It is reserved for future use.

    • Display Sort - if you want to sort the product codes that have been assigned to the Parent Category, you can do so using this field. This field is optional. The system sort is alpha/numeric: product codes beginning with numeric values display before product codes beginning with alpha values.

      • If you use the Display Sort, enter one value per product code. We recommend that you leave 'space' between the records so that extra records can be inserted later. For example, enter 1, 2 and 3 for the first 3 product codes you want sorted. In the future, you can add 1.1, 1.2, 2.1, 2.2, etc. as required.

    • The list box in the bottom section of the window, displays the following columns of information for the current Parent Category entered:

      • Product
      • Description
      • Active
      • Primary (for future use)
      • Display Sort

The following table outlines the functionality of each button on Products window:
