Release Orders on Hold (OE65)

An order put on hold for any reason will commit stock but will not be scheduled for printing until the hold condition has been resolved. This program is used to release orders on hold for any of the following reasons:

  • Ship Complete
  • Below Minimum Order Value
  • Credit Limit Exceeded
  • Account is Delinquent
  • Manual Hold
  • Below Minimum Backorder Value
  • Delinquency Hold
  • Pricing Hold

Auto Release

This option is used to release multiple orders at the same time that are on Minimum Backorder hold or Manual Hold.

Back orders held because they are below the minimum backorder value (as specified via program OE00) will be automatically released if a new order for the same customer is processed. This allows the shipping department to pack/deliver the backorder with the new order, thereby incurring less freight expense.
In the event that no new order is processed for the customer, any back orders on Minimum Backorder Hold may be released on demand by selecting the Auto Release button.

Orders on Manual Hold usually have a date entered on the OE30 screen to indicate on which day it is safe to release the order. For example, the order entry people key in a bunch of orders but they don't want them release to the system until next week because the customer does not want to receive the goods too early.
