Promotional Consideration (EC16)

The Promotional Consideration folder Maintain Advertising Packages (EC16) allows you to change the sort order on the search results and catalogue navigation for certain products within the time frame of the Ad Package entered in the header section.

• You can also change the sort order of products within a category using 'Display Sort' field in Category Relations (EC11/Products) or using the 'Sort' field in Product Publishing (EC13/Categories).

• The Promotional Consideration folder extends on the functionality of these fields.

Let's walk through a simple example to demonstrate how the Promotional Consideration folder works:

1. We will add a product, 8004, to the Promotional Consideration folder with a 'Display Sort' of 1:

2. When you browse to a category that has 8004 set up, the new sort value is used. In this case, product 8004 will be brought to the top of the list. Here is an example from an e-Commerce web site:

The following list defines every field on the Promotional Consideration folder:

• Product Code - enter or select from the query the Product Code for the product that is to receive promotional consideration. Product Codes are maintained in Maintain Inventory Master (IM13). The Product Code entered must already exist in the system before you can enter it here.
  • Once you enter a valid Product Code and tab out of this field, the description from IM13 displays to the right.

• List Box - lists all of the Product Codes and their associated sort orders entered for Promotional Consideration in the current Advertising Package. You can enter multiple products with various sort orders in this folder.

• Display Sort - enter the sort order for the current Product Code. You can enter maximum of 99999999 in this field.

The following table outlines the functionality of each button on the Promotional Consideration folder:

Button Label	Icon	Functionality
Update		Saves the current Product Code/Display Sort record.
Delete		Deletes the current Product Code record from the Advertising Package. In order to delete the entire Ad Package, you must use the Trash Can icon located in the header section.
New		Clears all of the the fields allowing you to add a new Ad Package and Product Code.
Printer		Prints the 'Promotional Consideration' report. This report displays all items that have a promotional consideration record maintained in EC16/Promotional Consideration.
